What to expect on a Ghost Hunt ...
What to expect on a Ghost Hunt ...
At Ghost Gang Hauntings we aim to make you feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible so that you can enjoy the night properly. Although we obviously cannot guarantee that every night's itinerary will be the same, below is a brief outline of what to expect.
Once all guests have arrived, a team leader will welcome everybody. We will then introduce the team and give a quick health and safety talk and outline the rules of the evening. Boring I know, but necessary.
The floor will then be given to medium Patrick Hutchinson to do a short demonstration of mediumship and its different forms ie psychometry, spiritual and energy control.
Guests will then be taken on a tour of the areas we are investigating so that you can get a feel for the place and get your bearings. Guests will be asked what they feel in each room before medium Patrick Hutchinson gives his opinions of what entities are there. If there is any history to accompany that room, the guests and the medium will be told it afterwards by a team member. Please not the medium does not know any of the locations history at all and will be hearing it for the first time when the guests do.
A quick tea break will then be taken and a chance to chat to our team members about your initial feelings of the place.
Next will be a quick workshop on the different equipment we will be using throughout the night:
- Trigger Objects
- Dowsing Rods
- Dowsing Pendulums
- Digital recorder for EVP work
- Motion Detectors
- Digital Laser Thermometer
Guests will learn how to work these objects, a quick history and summary about what they do and most importantly why they are used for "ghost hunting". Most equipment will be shared around the guests all evening and we will try our best to make sure everyone that wants a turn will have a turn.
We are currently trying to expand our equipment portfolio so hopefully more will be available in the future.
You will then be split into groups ( depending on size) and carry out vigils, seances, glass moving, table tipping and Ouija Boards (optional) experiments in the most, reportedly, haunted areas. Don't worry though ,we wouldn't dream of separating you from your friends!!!
You will be working a lot in the dark, so do bring a torch along if possible. You do not have to do anything you are not comfortable with. You will, however, be looked after and supported by the team so it would be great for you to use this opportunity to get as much as you can out of the night's events. Ghost Gang Hauntings encourage people to make the event their own and if that means you feel there is something you would like to do to enhance your experience then feel free to talk to the team and we will do our best to ensure that this can be arranged, within reason of course.
Your experiences and observations are of interest to us all and will be recorded by our team, so don't feel shy to let us know what you are feeling or experiencing.
Towards the end of the night, everyone will re-group and encouraged to talk about their experiences on the night. All guests will then be thanked and seen safely off the premises. All video footage and digital recordings will be examined and a report of the nights events will be written up in the days that follow.
General Notes :
Ghost Gang Hauntings encourage you to bring your own filming equipment to an event if you so wish. Filming equipment is very useful and a valuable aid when looking back over the ghost hunt to see what may have been captured and to write up a subsequent report on the night. Please let us know if you discover anything unusual on your equipment!!!
It is also known for spirits to drain the batteries, so make sure you bring spares! But if you find yourself with full power one second and none the next, let us know as this can mean that an entity is drawing energy and therefore is obviously in the room with us!
If you do become afraid or feel you can no longer participate you will be able to go to a lit area with one of our team who will ensure you are looked after. You are, obviously, free to leave an event at any stage of the evening.
Refreshments will be available during the evening, however if you want to bring your own as well, please feel free to. Please be advised, though, that alcohol is STRICTLY forbidden during the Ghost Hunt for obvious health and safety reasons.
There will be regular breaks during the evening and there will always be a smoking area for you should you so wish.
The team are on hand all night at all times to answer any questions that you may have and to support you throughout the event.
Comfortable footwear and warm clothing are advised. As different locations have differing temperatures, layers of clothing are preferable.
You will, nearly always, be kept in a group containing the people you have booked with.
